Fight With Covid-19

Coronavirus Aka Covid-19 has become the scariest pandemic across the globe. Many people have lost their lives and many more are struggling to get recovered. Everyone on this planet is now aware of the term covid-19. For more details, you can check about covid-19 here also. Every country is fighting with this virus in her own best ways. As of now, there is no medicine is available. However, we can follow a few things to protect ourselves and our nears and dears. There are some steps that we need to follow to protect us from this demon.

 

  1. Social Distancing: One of the major precautions is to maintain a physical distance from one another. Others are like avoiding social gatherings, wearing a mask, greetings with our traditional method namaste & staying 3 meters away from another person.

  1. Yoga: There is no disadvantage of doing yoga. Yoga is always beneficial to us in any way. It improves our strength, flexibility, and confidence. Many studies confirmed that yoga benefits our mental and physical health.


    We are in lockdown state for a long time. Due to lack of social minglings, lockdown is affecting our physiological and psychological well-being. We are now started getting relaxation with so many limitations. However, people can’t go to gyms, parks or workout together with friends. So, yoga, our ancient practice, can rescue ourselves in this staying all the time at home situation. Some yoga methods might be the best during this period according to their easiness:

    a. Surya Namaskar b.    Meditation c. Brahmari Pranayama

  2. Meditation: You can also practice meditation at home. You should try it doing anywhen between 1 min to 30 minutes.

  3. Exercise: Most of us think yoga and exercise are synonyms. But in actuality, they are different from each other. Although both of them are to improve our physical and mental health, but they are practiced in different ways. An exercise is to improve our physical activities and focus on our physical training mainly. In a lockdown, most of the people are sitting in front of their laptops for continuously 9 to 5 with exiguous physical activities. So, the exercise comes here to rescue us from the high risk of obesity and other likely health issues. Some of the exercises might be the best during this period after a long day:



    a. Jumping jacks b. Situps c. Sprawls d. Plank hold You can try different types of exercises for at least 15 minutes a day

  4. Water: Drinking warm water throughout the day helps you to fight against the viral infections. It is simply because warm water might kill virus to spread infection in the throat and lungs.

  5. Ayurvedic Immunity Booster: As all the medical studies has made it obvious that virus damages our immune system; your survival finally depends on your immune capacity. One can take a spoon of Chyavanprash in the morning because Chyavanprash helps to restore vital energy in the body. You can prepare various homemade natural immune boosters also like a herbal tea or kadha made from tulsi(Basil), Munakka(Raisin), Dalchini(Cinnamon), Kalimirch(Black Pepper), and sunthi(Dry Ginger). You can add lemon or honey according to your taste. Apart from this, there are sources of natural antioxidants in our kitchen like turmeric and ginger. You should add turmeric and coriander seeds in every cooking item.

  6. Milk: Milk is a powerhouse with so many essential nutrients. It boosts our immunity and helps us to stay energetic. You can drink hot milk once or twice a day with a half teaspoon of Haldi (Turmeric Powder). As mentioned above turmeric is a natural source of antioxidant.

  7. Nasal Application: You can also apply sesame oil or pure ghee in both the nostrils in the morning and in the evening. This helps to prevent cough and cold.

These are some of the natural methods to avoid getting sick in this coronavirus pandemic. Some general precautions should also be taken in this critical situation.

  1. News Consumption: Watching the news is useful to be aware of day to day happenings around you and the world, have consciousness. But frequent news watching, sharing panic messages related to the pandemic, reading social media opinion can cause an imbalance to your emotional state.

  1. Posture: You should always try to sit in the correct posture. A good posture for sitting is very important in work from home situation. Moreover, poor posture may hamper the blood circulation inside your varicose veins which can lead to pain in the backbone and one can become susceptible to developing slip disc. It is always advisable to do stretching for at least 5 minutes after every 30 minutes of sitting session.

 “Prevention is better than cure”.

We need to be careful not only towards ourselves but also children and elderly people. As per the CDC and WHO warnings children and elderly people are at greater risk of getting infected from the Covid-19 virus. Though mortality rate for young people are very low, but they can become a super spreader of the disease spreading it to many more by going outside from their homes. Anyone should not take any chance. People should not spread fake news to others within the community, since it will create no solution for anybody rather create more panic among them.
